The story of the movies goes when the small group of little innocent smurfs are kicked out of their village by the evil wizard Gargamel played by Hank Azaria, they escape into the present day New York city to save themselves from the wizard. A nice and God fearing married couple Patrick played by Neil Patrick Harris and Grace played by Jayma Mays come to their rescue by offering their house to the smurfs for shelter.

 Smurfs possess an essence of magical power which the Wizard wants to snatch it from them in order to form a portal that happens once in a blue moon.
