Smurf D Movie
Should I go and see the Smurfs movie if I’m a fan of the old cartoon, or will it let me down?
I went to see Yogi Bear when it came out, and I was VERY disappointed. When I first saw the previews for the new Smurfs movie, Gargamel looked like he and Asreal were going to be the only good part about the movie. The movie, which ends up sending the Smurfs to New York, looks like a blunt copy of Enchanted. I also noticed that they did not bother to make the Smurfs hand drawn when you first see them. It might have made it more believable, but then also would have made it more of an Enchanted copy. I love a lot of the old Hanna Barbera cartoons, and my mom is asking if I’d like to see Smurfs or Winnie the Pooh. Should I go and see Smurfs and perhaps get disappointed, or should I go see Winnie and not bother with the Smurf Movie?
You should go see Winnie the Pooh. I’m a fan of both cartoon series as well, and the Smurfs looks terrible. You’ll likely be upset with it, based on the reviews and the trailers. It appears that with Winnie the Pooh they were really delicate with their craftsmanship, so I’d see that one.
